Pistons Topple Mavericks in OT, 131-125
The Detroit Pistons defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 131-125, in overtime at Little Caesars Arena on Thursday night.

The Pistons (6-18) came into the contest as heavy home underdogs, but they set the right tone early by matching the Mavericks (10-11) bucket for bucket in the first quarter before taking a 61-60 lead into halftime. Detroit then appeared to take control by extending its advantage to 10 entering the final period, but Dallas came back from five down with 53.3 seconds remaining courtesy of a Luka Doncic three-pointer and Reggie Bullock three-footer. However, the hosts would regroup in overtime after falling behind by four, finishing on a 12-2 run over the final 3:04 for the upset victory.

Doncic led the way for the Mavericks with a 35-point, 10-assist double-double that included five rebounds and three steals. Tim Hardaway totaled 26 points, five boards, two assists, two steals and one block. Christian Wood delivered 25 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Maxi Kleber managed 10 points, three boards, one assist and four blocks.

Bojan Bogdanovic paced the Pistons with 30 points, supplementing them with four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Killian Hayes registered 22 points, eight assists and four boards. Marvin Bagley generated a 19-point, 13-rebound double-double that included two assists and one steal. Jaden Ivey compiled 16 points, six assists, three rebounds and one steal. Jalen Duren and Alec Burks provided 11 and 10 points, respectively, while recording two steals apiece. Burks also pulled down six boards.

The Mavericks remain on the road and visit the New York Knicks on Saturday afternoon, while the Pistons remain home and host the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday evening.
