Sam Keltner News: Battling for starting kicker gig

Keltner is in a battle with Collin Rogers for SMU's starting kicker gig ahead of Week 3 against Montana State, per Billy Embody of On3.com.

Keltner has yet to attempt a field goal or PAT this season, serving as Rogers backup. However, Rogers has struggled to perform in 2025, starting the campaign 1-of-4 on field goal attempts. SMU head coach Rhett Lashlee indicated there would be a competition in practice this week between the two kickers to see if Keltner can usurp the current starter Rogers.
