Not wanting to waste his breakout season by competing for opportunities against Jayden de Laura, Finley sought another transfer. Western Kentucky's 2023 season featured Austin Reed as its primary quarterback, but he is preparing for professional football now. By adding Finley, the Hilltoppers seem to have solved their QB1 vacancy.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
The Bo Nix Experiment has mercifully come to an end for the Tigers. Finley has the inside track at the starting job, as he replaced the incumbent Nix during the final three games of the season, including the Birmingham Bowl. Finley was not particularly impressive, though perhaps an additional offseason with the program after transferring from LSU the previous year will provide him with some continuity. Finley’s accuracy has been suspect during his brief collegiate career, something that also plagued Nix, so it will be interesting to see how short of a leash coach Bryan Harsin gives Finley if he is indeed named the starter. Finley completed just 54.7-percent of his throws for the Tigers last season. Transfers Zach Calzada and Robby Ashford will also push Finley for the top spot.
