Working out with Cincinnati
Plitt, who last played in the XFL in 2023 with the Renegades, is working out with the Bengals on Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Plitt was with the Bengals in training camp last year after quarterback Joe Burrow was forced to be away from the team following an appendectomy. Plitt was ultimately waived by the Bengals last August and failed to catch onto an NFL practice squad. He managed to play four games for the Renegades in the 2023 XFL season, completing 63.6 percent of his passes for 668 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions before being placed on injured reserve in April with a knee injury. With Burrow sidelined for several weeks with a calf strain, Plitt and fellow quarterback Reid Sinnett will compete for the third quarterback spot behind Trevor Siemian and Jake Browning.
