Secures third straight win
StrawweightUFC
March 31, 2024
Jandiroba defeated Lupita Godinez via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Atlantic City.
ANALYSIS
If you've seen one successful Jandiroba fight, you've seen them all. Virna is entirely reliant on her grappling game for success. She managed a pair of takedowns on nine attempts against Godinez but won this bout because she was consistently able to outmuscle Loopy at the point of attack, which is no small task because she was facing a credible opponent. Jandiroba's ceiling is severely capped by the fact she will be 36 years of age shortly and has just one knockout win in 23 professional bouts, but she's quietly won three straight dating back to May 2022, and all three have come against decent opposition (Godinez, Marina Rodriguez, Angela Hill).

Will fight Godinez
StrawweightUFC
November 28, 2023
Jandiroba will fight Lupita Godinez at a UFC event scheduled for March 30, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Jandiroba holds a three-inch reach advantage over Godinez and has won her previous two fights. However, Jandiroba's fight against Godinez will mark her first in nearly 11 months and second in nearly two years, so there is a chance the 35-year-old fighter shows a bit of rust.

Leans on grappling in win
StrawweightUFC
May 6, 2023
Jandiroba defeated Marina Rodriguez via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) at UFC 288 on Saturday in Newark, New Jersey.
ANALYSIS
Easy work. Exceptionally strong for her size and an excellent grappler, Jandiroba leaned on her wrestling in this fight, as expected. She connected on 3-of-7 takedown attempts, good for 12:02 worth of control time. Rodriguez never had a prayer of returning to her feet with Virna on top of her, resulting in a clear-cut unanimous decision victory for the soon-to-be 35-year-old Brazilian. Jandiroba has struggled with consistency, never winning more than three straight fights during her time with the UFC, although she has emerged victorious in three of her last four dating back to June 2021.
Set to face Marina Rodriguez
StrawweightUFC
February 21, 2023
Jandiroba agreed to fight Marina Rodriguez in a strawweight bout at UFC 288 on May 6, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Jandiroba is coming off a win over Angela Hill in May of last year, which improved her UFC record to 4-3 since joining the promotion in 2019. Rodriguez should be the clear favorite as the higher-ranked fighter, though her loss to Amanda Lemos in November ended a streak of four consecutive victories.
Strong rebound performance
StrawweightUFC
May 14, 2022
Jandiroba defeated Angela Hill via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC on ESPN 36 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It wasn't pretty by any stretch of the imagination, but it was a clear cut victory for Jandiroba, and she needed it on the heels of her unanimous decision loss to Amanda Ribas last October. Unlike Hill , who excels in the stand-up, virtually all of Jandiroba's offense is mat based. She landed 3-of-8 takedown attempts, good for 7:04 worth of control time, although Virna wasn't credited with a submission attempt. The Brazilian is deceptively strong and so good on the mat that she has a chance against most every opponent as long as she can remain somewhat competitive on the feet. Jandiroba turns 33 years of age later this month, so now is the time for her to make a move.
