Drops main event in Vegas
FlyweightUFC
March 23, 2024
Ribas lost to Rose Namajunas via unanimous decision (46-49, 46-49, 47-48) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Ribas was plenty competitive, although it was always abundantly clear she didn't do enough to win. Amanda is, first and foremost, a brawler. She had zero chance of matching the technical skill of Namajunas on the feet, so she went to her grappling. She had some success there at times, but also made plenty of mistakes that gave Rose dominant positions. That's why Namajunas finished with 6:59 worth of control time compared to 1:38 for Ribas despite the fact it was Amanda with a 4-1 takedown edge. Amanda began her UFC run with four straight wins, but has alternated losses and wins in her next seven bouts. She's solid roster depth, but nothing more at this stage.

Set to fight Namajunas
FlyweightUFC
January 12, 2024
Ribas will fight Rose Namajunas (hand) at UFC Vegas 88 on March 23, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Coming off a win over Luana Pinheiro in November, Ribas will look to string together consecutive victories for the first time since 2020. The 30-year-old Brazilian is 3-3 in her last six fights.
Finds range late in victory

Ribas defeated Luana Pinheiro via TKO (strikes) at 3:35 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
If you've seen one Ribas fight, you've seen them all. She lacks technical skill on the feet and almost always ends up in a brawl, but she's tough as nails and has shown an ability to continue to push forward despite whatever her opponent is sending back her way. Simply put, she broke Pinheiro in this fight. With the bout tied at a round apiece, Ribas turned up the aggression, and Luana crumbled. That's the good news (as well as the fact Ribas earned a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus). The bad news is that Amanda's style of fighting makes it difficult to string together victories, as evidenced by the fact she has alternated wins and losses in her past eight fights. We'll see if this late surge can get her going. Ribas is still just 30 years of age.

Inconsistent ways continue
FlyweightUFC
June 24, 2023
Ribas lost to Maycee Barber via TKO (strikes) at 3:42 of Round 2 at UFC on ABC 5 on Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida.
ANALYSIS
Entering as a surprising and hefty -210 favorite, Ribas landed a takedown and generated more than a minute worth of control time in each round. The good times ended there. She was busted open in the early going by Barber and found herself leaking blood the entire way. Amanda's defense has been questionable at times, and she entered the evening with a pair of knockout defeats on her resume, but it would be impossible to blame Ribas for not being able to hang on in this one. No fighter would have been able to survive the onslaught Maycee unleashed in Round 2. Set to turn 30 years of age in late August, Ribas began her UFC career with four straight wins, but she's been below .500 since, alternating losses and wins in her past five bouts.
