Blaine Perkins

RSS Racing
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Perkins moves from Our Motorsports to RSS Racing in 2024. The young driver will pilot the team's third entry in the Xfinity Series, the No. 29 Ford. Perkins' 30 starts spread across two teams in 2023 yielded just two Top-15 and four Top-20 finishes. He'll hope for better results with the RSS team. The No. 29 entry made just seven starts in a part-time capacity for RSS Racing last season. This car will now shift to full-time with Perkins behind the wheel. The sponsorship lineup and crew chief have not been announced at the time of this writing, so there are a lot of unknowns for Perkins and this team heading into the 2024 campaign. Read Past Outlooks
Tops Martinsville Xfinity Practice
XFINITY Series
October 27, 2023
Perkins was fastest in Happy Hour practice for the Dead On Tools 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Martinsville Speedway Friday afternoon. He turned a fast lap of 92.461 mph.
ANALYSIS
Perkins was the surprise leader of this lone practice ahead of qualifying for the Dead On Tools 250. He topped this session by beating out John Hunter Nemechek for the fastest lap of the half-mile short track. The driver of the No. 02 Chevrolet pulled out a perfect lap in this practice and is not expected to be a Top-10 driver in Saturday's race at Martinsville Speedway.

2023
2022
Youngster Perkins replaces Joe Graf Jr. in the seat of the No. 07 Chevrolet in the upcoming season. Amazingly, this team won last season with Cole Custer behind the wheel in a spot start at Fontana, otherwise it was a struggle-filled season with Graft driving. The team will look to hit the reset button with Perkins in 2023. The young driver has been pretty successful in the lower divisions of NASCAR and has actually made 13 Xfinity Series starts over the last two seasons. This No. 07 team showed good potential with guest drivers Custer and Hailie Deegan last year, so it's hoped that a capable young driver will carry them to better performance in the upcoming season.
Codie Rohrbaugh, Grant Enfinger and other drivers split this ride last season. They had some decent impact for this small truck series race team, collecting four Top 10's and 11 Top-20 finishes. However, it looks like youngster Perkins will be taking the wheel full-time in 2022. The 21-year-old driver has had some limited success in the lower divisions of NASCAR, but has yet to leave a big impression in the sport's top-3 national touring series. Perkins made just eight starts in the Xfinity Series last season with limited impact, but gradual improvement. This very capable race team is putting all their chips on this young, untested driver in the upcoming season. We'll see how quickly Perkins can get over the learning curve hump.
