Arturo Alfonso Gonzalez Injury: Undergoes meniscus surgery
Gonzalez underwent a meniscus cleaning procedure on his right knee to eliminate discomfort that has limited him throughout the season, Jose Maria Garrido of Claro Sports reported Tuesday.
Gonzalez's recovery is expected to be completed during the offseason after his team missed the playoffs in the Apertura 2025 tournament, but it's unclear exactly when he'll be able to see action. The midfielder recorded 285 minutes of league play, making only one start since his return to Atlas in July. However, once he's fit, he'll look to regain ground on Mateo Garcia (hamstring) and Gustavo Del Prete among the players who can create offensive opportunities behind the strikers.
