Anguissa suffered a high-grade biceps femoris strain in his left thigh during his time with Cameroon, Napoli announced.

Anguissa could be sidelined for up to two months since the injury is severe. With Kevin De Bruyne (thigh) also on the mend, Elijf Elmas will likely play consistently in the midfield, opening up room for David Neres and Noa Lang on the left wing. Fullback Leonardo Spinazzola has also occasionally played in such a role. Billy Gilmour (groin) will be the only deputy behind the starters for the foreseeable future.
