Joe Gomez News: Remains as backup

Gomez hasn't made any league starts this season, but remains the only natural backup option.

Gomez has started only two cup games this season, with Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate forming Liverpool's preferred center-back duo pairing in the other competitions. He remains the only natural backup following Giovanni Leoni's season-ending ACL injury, and will certainly get the chance if any injury or rotation occurs. The other options are Wataru Endo and Andrew Robertson, who featured as part of a back five in their recent FA Cup outing.
