Cannella secured four of five targets for 71 yards and a touchdown during the Renegades' 35-26 win over the Defenders in the XFL Championship Game on Saturday night.

The athletic tight end used his speed to put the first points of the night on the board, helping Luis Perez beat the blitz by getting open down the middle and then outracing defenders 41 yards to the end zone. Cannella would go on to finish second in receptions and receiving yards on the night for Arlington, putting a fitting cap on a strong campaign overall that saw him produce a 42-415 line during 10 regular-season games. Cannella received a training camp opportunity with the Packers last summer following a similarly impressive showing with the USFL's New Orleans Breakers, and it remains to be seen if he'll parlay his latest spring success into another chance at the highest level.
