Smith rushed 13 times for 90 yards and two touchdowns and secured two of three targets for 28 yards during the Defenders' 35-26 loss to the Renegades in the XFL Championship Game on Saturday night. He also recorded a two-point conversion rush.

ANALYSIS
Smith paced the XFL in rushing during the regular season, so his standout performance in the highest-stakes game of all wasn't exactly surprisingly. The bruising Baylor product gave the Defenders an immediate second-half boost with a 52-yard touchdown scamper on fourth down early in the third quarter, a play preceded by a two-yard scoring run in the first half. Smith's rushing touches were partly capped by game script, but his efficient and rewarding effort was the perfect cap to a regular season and postseason that should lead to multiple training camp invitations from NFL teams.
