Joel Embiid Injury: Won't play Friday

Embiid won't play Friday against the Knicks due to an illness and right knee injury management.

Despite going through shootaround, Embiid was unable to shake off his questionable tag. The 76ers may have been planning to hold Embiid out for Friday's contest all along, as he has yet to be cleared to play in both ends of back-to-back sets. Look for Andre Drummond to see the bulk of the minutes at center Friday, but Embiid could be back in the starting five Saturday versus the Mavericks.
