Brad Jackson News: Front-runner for starting gig
Head coach G.J. Kinne indicated that Jackson is the current front-runner for the starting job heading into the 2025 season, though the decision has not been finalized just yet, per Michael Adams of The Austin Sports Journal.
Jackson is expected to be the starter heading into the 2025 season after spending his freshman season learning behind former starter Jordan McCloud. The 6-foot quarterback was part of a competition for the starting job with fellow signal-callers Kendrick Luster and Holden Geriner but seems to have taken the lead in the closing weeks of the offseason. Despite the indication that Jackson is in the lead, Kinne made it clear a decision has not been finalized.
