McKinney is a high school standout for Tulsa (OK) Union HS, a Freshman of the Year Award winner from Conference USA's 2024 season and recently logged a career-best year with New Mexico. For the 2025 Lobos, he recorded 111 rushing attempts for 464 yards and seven touchdowns. The running back also logged 15 receptions on 20 targets.
