Gabarri Johnson News: Announced as backup

The Oregon State videoboard introduced Maalik Murphy as Oregon State's starting quarterback for Saturday's game against Washington State, leaving Johnson in a backup role, Greg Woods of The Spokane Spokesman-Review reports.

Johnson was seen taking first-team reps leading up to the contest; however, it looks like Oregon State will be sticking with Murphy under center. Johnson replaced Murphy for the second half of the Beavers' previous game and delivered a strong stat line.
