Johnson took over midway through Oregon State's most recent contest for Maalik Murphy and delivered an impressive performance. The outing impressed interim HC Robb Akey enough to land Johnson the starting gig against the Cougars. Johnson rushed for 82 yards and threw for 79 more during his last outing.
