Jayden Denegal Injury: Undergoes surgery
Denegal underwent left shoulder surgery Wednesday and won't play in the New Mexico Bowl against North Texas on Saturday, Kirk Kenney of The Press-Enterprise.
Denegal suffered the injury in the season opener but played with a protective harness the rest of the way, and he ended up suiting up in every game for the Aztecs in 2025. He completed 58.6 percent of his passes for 1,811 yards while posting a 9:8 TD:INT in 12 outings. This means Bert Emanuel will get the nod under center to face the Mean Green. Denegal is expected to be fully recovered when spring practice starts in March.
