Josh Hoover News: Intends to enter portal

Hoover intends to enter the NCAA transfer portal, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports.

Hoover will search for a new team ahead of his final year of eligibility. The junior quarterback finished the 2025 season with a 65.9 completion percentage for 3,472 yards with 29 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He'll likely now not play in the Valero Alamo Bowl versus USC on Dec. 30. Hoover will be a coveted player in the portal, as projects to have the most total passing yards (9,629) and touchdown passes (71) of any quarterback in the sport expected to return in 2026.
