Malachi Nelson News: Unremarkable in first college start

Nelson went 22-for-34 for 178 yards, one touchdown, and one interception Saturday against Utah State.

This was it. Nelson was once one of the most-vaunted recruits in the country. He went to USC and didn't play. He transferred to Boise and he saw a smattering of mop-up work. Thus, he transferred to UTEP, and he finally won a QB battle. And...he posted a 36.8 QBR in a loss to Utah State. The last modicum of hype and promise has been extinguished.
