Poffenbarger has signed with Akron, Chris Hummer of 247Sports.com reports.

Poffenbarger played two seasons at Albany to start his career, topping 6,000 passing yards and 50 touchdowns. However, he's been a backup over the past two seasons -- one with Miami and one with North Texas. Akron doesn't have a clear QB1 for 2026, which means Poffenbarger could have a shot at playing time.
