Rod Gainey News: Scores first touchdown of career

Gainey compiled 15 carries for 74 yards and one touchdown and hauled in all two targets for 12 yards during Saturday's 42-35 victory against Monmouth.

Gainey only totaled eight carries over the first two games before being given an increased role this week. The freshman took advantage of his opportunity, recording career highs in yards and carries while scoring his first collegiate touchdown. It will be interesting to see if he will maintain a high volume of carries in the coming weeks.
