Sam Scott News: Leads backfield in opener

Scott logged 29 carries for 132 yards during Thursday's 10-0 win versus Akron.

The Cowboys were expected to utilize a committee out of the backfield to open the season, though that certainly wasn't the case Thursday -- Scott saw a career-high 29 carries compared to just two for Terron Kellman. It looks like the senior running back will be leaned on heavily this season after rushing for 435 yards with three touchdowns on 92 carries in 2024.
