Sire Gaines Injury: Still sidelined with minor ailment

Gaines (undisclosed) has a minor soft tissue injury and isn't partaking early in Boise State's fall camp, per B.J. Rains of Bronco Nation News.

Gaines isn't expected to be held out long, and his injury is reportedly separate from the knee issue that plagued him in 2024. In the meantime, his backup Malik Sherrod has reportedly impressed. Both figure to be a factor this year for the Broncos, but after a year as Ashton Jeanty's understudy, Gaines is set to take the reins for Boise.
