Sire Gaines News: Shares workload in loss

Gaines posted nine rushes for 44 yards and gathered in 3 of 6 targets for 17 yards during Thursday's 34-7 defeat to South Florida.

While Gaines would ultimately lead the Broncos in rushing, he was out-carried 11-to-9 by Malik Sherrod, though neither back managed to get much going on the ground in a lopsided defeat. While it appears that Boise State will utilize a backfield committee to start the year, Gaines should be able to find more success next week against Eastern Washington.
