Ty Thompson Injury: Not included on initial depth chart

Thompson (hamstring) isn't listed on the initial depth chart for the Week 1 matchup against Northwestern on Saturday.

Thompson has been dealing with a hamstring injury suffered in mid-August, and the fact that he wasn't included on the initial depth chart suggests he might not be ready to play in the season opener. Thompson will be a fixture on offense when healthy, but Saturday's game might simply come too soon for him. Anthony Miller figures to see most of the snaps at tight end, with Johnny Pascuzzi and Justyn Reid competing for the backup role if Thompson is unable to go.
