Brown scored twice on seven shots in AHL Providence's 5-3 win over Springfield on Friday.

Brown has four goals and seven points over five AHL games this year. The 33-year-old has seen parts of the last two seasons in the NHL, earning two assists over a total of 26 games. If he gets a call-up, it will be to fill in as a no-nonsense fourth-liner who can add a physical edge.
