Aji Alese News: Joins Portsmouth on loan

Alese will move to Championship side Portsmouth on loan from Sunderland until the end of the 2025/26 campaign, his parent club announced Thursday.

Alese should get more opportunities to play in the second-tier league after failing to find a spot in Sunderland's squad. The defender struggled with a shoulder injury for several months but returned to full health in January. His departure leaves Reinildo as the main left-back option, with Dennis Cirkin offering backup for the Black Cats.
