Alexsandro (quadriceps) remained an unused substitute in the French Cup and is aiming to be fully fit for the clash against Rennes, coach Bruno Genesio said in a press conference, according to Le Petit Lillois. "The plan was that if the match went well, we could give him maybe 15 minutes. He still has 15 days before the next match against Rennes. He will return, like other players, a little earlier than the others to do specific work so that he is ready for the match against Rennes."

Alexsandro was back in the squad for Saturday's win against US Lusitanos and didn't feature since he was expected to play 15 minutes at best depending on how the game unfolds. The center-back is aiming to return fully fit for the clash against Rennes on Jan. 3. This would be excellent news for the Dogues since they are limitated in the backline due to the absences of Aissa Mandi and Chancel Mbemba who joined their country for the AFCON.
