Carlos Romero Injury: Won't play vs. Villarreal

Romero won't be available for selection against Villarreal on Saturday due to a clause on his loan agreement, manager Manolo Gonzalez confirmed during Friday's pre-match press conference. "Romero won't be available since we didn't want to pay the clause that would've allowed us to play him."

Romero has been a regular presence on the left side of the defense for Espanyol, but he'll be loan-locked for this contest. Expect Jose Salinas to take his place in the XI, and Romero's next chance to play will come against Sevilla on Nov. 24 after the international break.
