Edgar Zaldivar Injury: Returns to training

Zaldivar (knee) has joined the team's offseason work prior to the Clausura 2026 tournament, the club announced Tuesday.

Zaldivar has been out for one year, which is the period he was initially expected to miss due to his ACL issue. It remains unclear whether he'll be ready to play in the opening week in 2026, as a gradual return to action is likely to be the case while he regains match fitness. He was playing as a right-back before suffering the injury, but he may now be reinstated to his natural position in central midfield with Gustavo Ferrareis set to remain the first choice on the flank.
