Elmali has been suspended by the Turkish Football Federation for an investigation into illegal gambling, according to Colin Millar of The Athletic.

Elmali is not available for Galatasaray for the time being, after the TFF opened up an investigation into numerous players across the league for illegal gambling. This is a blow to the club, as he began the competition in a starting role. The defender has no return date set in place at the moment, out until the investigation is complete or he is cleared of his allegations. Ismail Jakobs should continue to start at left-back due to Elmali's absence.
