Gabriel Injury: Still not training

Gabriel (thigh) is not expected to be available against Brighton on Saturday, manager Mikel Arteta told media during Friday's press conference. "We'll have to wait and see. He hasn't trained yet, he's still doing his rehab. But hopefully as quickly as possible because we know the situation that we have in the back line."

Arsenal's situation in the backline might lead to Gabriel returning to action as quickly as possible, but it doesn't sound as if he'll be available to face Brighton. A return against Aston Villa on Dec. 30 might look more likely as long as he's able to log one or two training sessions in the coming days.
