Gustavo Ferrareis Injury: Dealing with muscular discomfort

Ferrareis could miss the first league game of 2026 after sitting out the last couple of practice matches with a muscle injury, per reporter Alberto Avalos.

Ferrareis served as the Rojinegros' lone right wing-back option throughout the previous campaign, so him being unavailable for the Clausura opener would be a major blow. Considering that it may still be too early for Edgar Zaldivar (knee) to log meaningful minutes, Gaddi Aguirre and perhaps Sergio Hernandez will be candidates to cover the Brazilian's duties if the injury is serious. However, his status is unclear ahead of the upcoming Liga MX contests.
