Hugo Ekitike Injury: Hopeful for cup match

Ekitike (hamstring) is a late call for Monday's match against Barnsley, according to manager Arne Slot. "Hugo, that is not 100 per cent sure but we will do everything to have him available on Monday."

Ekitike is working to be available for the club's opening FA Cup match, with the forward now a late call to face Barnsley. It will likely come down to a fitness test ahead of the match, although they won't risk him, as they are facing a team they should easily dispatch. Even if he is only available from the bench, it will secure his fitness for the Jan. 17 match against Burnley when they return to league play.
