Shaffelburg won't participate in Canada's January camp due to a groin injury, according to Matthew Scianitti of TSN.

Shaffelburg underwent surgery for what was described as a "degenerative condition that required a procedure." Shaffelburg is expected to be out for around two months, which will cause him to miss the start of the 2026 MLS season.
