Nick Pope Injury: Should return against Chelsea
Pope (groin) should return for Saturday's clash against Chelsea, coach Eddie Howe said in the press conference, according to Gary Stonehouse from The Sun. "He's probably the closest of all the [injured] players. He's doing well, he's back on the grass, he's training, diving, kicking. Whether he makes this game, I'm not sure."
Pope is expected to return for Saturday's clash against Chelsea after training fully on the grass this week. The starting goalkeeper is expected to start between the post once fully back available, although some doubts remains after his bad performances and discussions following the game against Marseille in the Champions League. If Pope had to miss some more time ultimately, Aaron Ramsdale will continue to start in goal for the Magpies.
