Riccardo Calafiori Injury: Not risked with Italy
Calafiori (hip) has had his injury confirmed by manager Gennaro Gattuso after leaving national team duty with Italy, according to Ali Rampling of The Athletic. "We tried [Riccardo], he had a few issues. I thank him for his commitment: he stayed here for a week, he could have played perhaps, but it wouldn't have been fair to him or Arsenal."
Calafiori has returned to Arsenal following the injury to his hip, but appears to be dealing with a more cautious move for the defender, ensuring he doesn't suffer further injury. That said, it appears he could make a quick turnaround, possibly returning to action when the club resumes play against Tottenham on Nov. 23. He has yet to miss a start in league play this season, a spot he will be expected to maintain Sunday if fit, with Myles Lewis-Skelly as a possible replacement.
