Tanasijevic will remain in New York City F.C after his contract was exercised for the 2026 season.

Tanasijevic served as a backup to Justin Haak and Thiago Martins at center back, appearing 16 times in 2025. He recorded 46 clearances and eight tackles, effectively filling in when needed. The defender is expected to maintain this role as long as Haak and Martins remain with the club.
