Closer Watch
SD -- Huston Street was removed from the game and later placed on the DL with a right shoulder strain. The Padres have a cadre of capable relievers, and it looks like the primary options for saves will be Andrew Cashner, Luke Gregerson and Dale Thayer. Cashner appears to be the best option for those fishing for saves on the waiver wire, and he could be worth the add regardless of his closer status -- he has 11 strikeouts in 13 innings and owns a 2.08 ERA.
MIA -- Heath Bell is out of the closer's role for now in Miami, leaving Steve Cishek as the closer. However, Cishek was forced to throw three full innings in Saturday's win and likely will not be available again until Tuesday. As such, expect Edward Mujica to get the nod in the interim. For Bell, he'll likely have his chance to return to the role later in the year if he can work out the kinks in some less important situations.

Recommended Pickup
Andrew Cashner, RP, SD -- As mentioned above, Cashner looks like the man in San Diego. His peripheral stats this year are unimpressive -- 5.59 FIP, 10 walks in 13 innings -- but he owns a blazing fastball and the cushy confines of PETCO Park should help him keep the ERA low enough to be useful in the closer's role. If you want to be extra sure, grab Luke Gregerson as well.
Other recent recommendations:Allen Craig, Mike Trout, Kenley Jansen, Bryce Harper
