Closer Watch

Athletics – Eric O'Flaherty blew the save Monday against the White Sox, giving up a solo homer to Tyler Flowers in the ninth. He's now allowed homers in two of his last three outings, but still has tremendously strong numbers for the season and is probably not in much jeopardy here.

Nationals – Drew Storen picked up his third save in grand fashion Monday, striking out the side against the Braves. That's five strikeouts en route to two saves in the last two days for Storen. Meanwhile, Rafael Soriano's been banned from game action altogether in the wake of a period of major struggle, and it's unclear what the plan is for him now. Soriano could in theory come back to assume the role, or the Nats may just stick with Storen for the rest of the year.

Rockies – LaTroy Hawkins' old mates on the Mets stuck him with a blown save Monday, getting to him for a pair of runs and a walk-off win. That's now five runs allowed by Hawkins in his last seven outings, but the Rockies' lack of depth in the bullpen means he's still pretty well ensconced in the role.

Recommended Pickup
Rougned Odor, 2B, TEX – Odor's rather quietly been on a nice little tear over the last couple weeks, having gone.310/.370/.571 with three homers over his last 13 games. It looks like the kid's starting to be a bit more selective at the plate, and it's paying off. Now if only he could improve his base stealing. Nonetheless, while he's surely owned in most keeper leagues, most owners in yearly formats will find that Odor's out there on the wire to help them at second base.

Other Recent Recommendations:Collin McHugh, Brock Holt, Adam Dunn, Gregor Blanco, Andrew Heaney
