Chicago (NL) - Kerry Wood picked up his first save of the season with a two-strikeout inning Monday night. Carlos Marmol is still the man in Chicago, but should he go down, Wood is probably the second in line instead of Sean Marshall.

San Francisco - Brian Wilson took his fourth loss of the season as the Braves rallied for three runs in the ninth to win Monday's game. There has been talk of back issues for Wilson, but the cavalry won't be there to rescue him: Sergio Romo was put on the DL Tuesday with right elbow inflammation. Wilson will have to work through this on his own.

Toronto - Jon Rauch was placed on the disabled list with appendicitis Tuesday. Frank Francisco stands to receive the majority of save opportunities until Rauch returns.

Recommended Pickup

Brandon Belt, 1B, SF - Yes, we've already been here before, and it didn't work out, but this time is different. The difference can be summed up in one word: desperation. Though we recommended Belt a couple days ago, he is primed for a big jump in playing time with Aaron Rowand suffering a strained intercostal, Nate Schierholtz possibly breaking his foot, and Carlos Beltran hitting the DL due to his hand issue. Somebody's going to have to man the outfield for San Francisco, and now Bruce Bochy has no choice but to play Belt. In extended time, his .900+ Triple-A OPS and impressive prospect pedigree will play at the MLB level. Belt is still available in a lot of leagues, so those looking for some power would be wise to give him a shot.

Other recent recommendations:Ben Revere, Brandon Allen, Rafael Betancourt, J.D. Martinez, Robinson Chirinos
