Closer Watch - A closer look at intriguing ninth-inning situations (also check out our Closer Grid)
NY-N – Bobby Parnell picked up his second save of the season Monday night against the Marlins. It wasn't clean – he allowed a solo shot to Gaby Sanchez – but he managed to finish the job. It's not like Jason Isringhausen was unavailable, either. The veteran Isringhausen picked up his 16th hold in the eigth inning. It's possible this was just a one-day arrangement, but it also wouldn't shock to see the Mets go to Parnell more in the ninth inning, as he has the stuff to be the Mets' closer of the future.

Recommended Pickup
Tom Milone, P, WAS
The big news in the Washington rotation is the return of Stephen Strasburg next week – and if he's available, we obviously recommend him as well – but another pitcher getting the call could make a big impact down the stretch. Tom Milone, a soft-tossing lefty, has a 155:16 K:BB ratio in 148 innings at Triple-A Syracuse this season, and he'll be replacing Jordan Zimmermann (reached his innings cap) in the rotation for the last month. He hasn't been officially recalled, but as soon as he's available, he should be snapped up.
