2025 Fantasy Outlook
Rodriguez hit .129 with zero home runs and 14 strikeouts (with nine walks) in 40 MLB plate appearances last year, but his success at Triple-A still makes him a notable rookie for potential fantasy value in 2025. He slashed .301/.390/.540 with 29 home runs, eight steals, a 25.2 percent strikeout rate, a 12.6 percent walk rate and a 34.3 percent hard-hit rate in 118 games as a 24-year-old repeating the International League. One positive takeaway from his brief time in the majors: Rodriguez's 76.2 mph average bat speed was an elite mark. Given his age and lack of impact foot speed, Rodriguez doesn't get much hype, but he could be a 25-homer right fielder if he were given the opportunity. He'll be competing with the likes of Will Brennan, Jhonkensy Noel and Kyle Manzardo for playing time, and while he'll likely open the year back at Triple-A, he could find his way into a significant role sometime this summer. Goes hitless in loss
Rodriguez started in right field and went 0-for-3 in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Athletics.
Analysis
Rodriguez was called up earlier this month for a second stint in the majors, with the Guardians hoping that he could solve the season-long production issues in right field. He's been unable to fulfill the organization's hope, batting .160 (4-for-25) with a .472 OPS across 26 plate appearances.

Promotion on horizon?
Rodriguez isn't in the lineup Wednesday for Triple-A Columbus after the Guardians announced that Lane Thomas is dealing with a foot injury, reports SI.com.
Analysis
Thomas has only been back a week after being on the injured list for a month due to a wrist issue, but he's now battling another injury. Rodriguez made his MLB debut last season and went 0-for-5 in four games, but he could receive another opportunity in the near future. Angel Martinez operated as Cleveland's primary center fielder during Thomas' first absence, but his .265/.288/.379 slash line may not be enough to retain a regular role.
