The Padres released Patino (elbow) on Sunday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The right-hander had resided on Double-A San Antonio's 7-day injured list since late June after hitting a snag in his recovery from April 2024 Tommy John surgery, and the Padres have now decided to part ways with him. Patino last pitched in the majors in 2023 and had a 4.57 ERA across 21.2 innings between the White Sox and Rays that season.
