Ian Anderson

Incredibly, Anderson was under consideration to start Game 1 of the NL Wild Card Series for Atlanta despite not making a single appearance with the club during the regular season. It was an odd set of circumstances and Atlanta didn't end up making the postseason, but the fact that he was even in the conversation for that theoretical start spoke highly of what Anderson showed in the minors in his return from 2023 Tommy John surgery. Command is often the last piece to come along after TJS and Anderson was wild at times, but regardless he pitched to a 3.96 ERA across 10 starts for Triple-A Gwinnett. Anderson lost his prospect shine long ago and has not thrown a pitch in the majors since 2022, but he has clawed his way back to being on the verge of an MLB return.
