Aaron Ashby

An unsettled role combined with persistent durability issues continue to make Ashby hard to trust for fantasy purposes. He opened 2025 on the injured list due to a strained right oblique, spending a few months on the shelf before making his season-debut in late-May. It marked the third time in the past four seasons that the southpaw missed 40-plus days on the injured list. On the plus side, the 27-year-old performed well in a multi-inning relief role, averaging just over an inning-and-a-half per appearance. Ashby relied heavily on his upper-90's sinker - he averaged a career-high 97.5 mph on the pitch - and curveball that produced the ninth-best whiff rate among those who threw more than 200 curves in 2025. He also achieved success with his slider, but that's an offering he's continued to rely less on with each passing year.
