2026 Fantasy Outlook
Eflin remained an elite strike thrower this past season, with his 4.2 percent walk rate coming in in the 98th percentile. Unfortunately, that's about the only good thing that can be said about how things went for the 31-year-old. Injuries plagued the veteran hurler, as he first went down with a right lat strain and later dealt with a back problem that eventually required a lumbar microdiscectomy in mid-August. All told, he was limited to just 14 starts and 71.1 innings, and Eflin served up a whopping 18 home runs over that time, including 15 over 185 plate appearances versus left-handed batters. Eflin was scheduled to return to mound work in early January, which should give him a good chance of being ready for the start of 2026. He re-signed with Baltimore on a one-year, $10 million contract and should slot in at the back of the rotation. A fully healthy Eflin has typically been a low-upside fantasy option given his low strikeout potential, so he doesn't hold a lot of appeal coming off an ineffective, injury-plagued campaign.
