Anderson began the season as the Marlins regular shortstop. After a decent start, Anderson performed even worse than the previous season, which was the nadir of his career. He was released in early July then failed to latch on with another organization. Anderson's Hard-Hit rate and exit velocity have been declining while his strikeout rate is rising. A 15.2 percent fly ball rate squashed any semblance or power. The Angels signed Anderson to a minor league deal, ostensibly as a reserve middle infielder.
