Call began last season in a fourth outfielder role and spent some time back in the minors late in the first half. However, between injuries and/or ineffectiveness with the Nationals' other outfielders, Call essentially had the usage of a regular even if it wasn't always consistent. The 29-year-old graded out very well defensively - mostly in center field - and ranked as an above-average baserunner, as well. However, while Call slashed a solid .252/.352/.393 against left-handed pitching, it was more than canceled out by an abysmal .171/.282/.258 line versus righties. Call is a fourth outfielder from Central Casting, but the Nats' dearth of impact outfielders could mean he's thrust into a meaningful role again. Read Past Outlooks
